Riding a motorcycle combines the excitement of the open road with the importance of safety and communication. For today’s motorcyclists, full face helmet intercom has become a crucial addition. These devices improve safety while transforming the way riders communicate with others, navigate, and listen to music.

Moman H2E full face helmet intercom system is installed on the helmets to ensure communication between two riders.

Introduction to full face motorcycle helmet intercom

A full-face helmet intercom is a wireless communication solution designed for motorcyclists, enabling them to communicate with fellow riders, enjoy music, and access GPS or phone features without removing their full-face helmet. Here’s a deeper breakdown:

What it is:

A full-face helmet intercom, often referred to as a motorcycle headset or communication system, is a Bluetooth-enabled device that integrates with a full-face helmet to facilitate rider-to-rider communication.

How it works:

These systems usually consist of a microphone, speakers, and a control unit that can be attached to the helmet’s exterior or interior. They allow riders to converse with each other, stream music, follow GPS navigation, or handle phone calls hands-free.

The Moman H2E, for example, is a Bluetooth motorcycle intercom for full face helmets and two riders. It provides exceptional convenience and flexibility, enabling you to enjoy music, handle calls, and communicate with fellow riders while keeping your hands on the handlebars. Featuring advanced noise-canceling technology and extended range, it ensures crystal-clear and seamless communication, even in loud conditions or at high speeds.

How to install full face helmet intercom: 5 steps to follow

Follow the below steps to integrate full face motorcycle helmets with intercom.

Step 1: Determine the optimal location to attach the intercom to your helmet

Start by examining your helmet. For full-face, modular, and open-face helmets, the installation will require:

  • A pair of Bluetooth motorcycle helmet speakers, positioned on each side of your head inside the helmet
  • A microphone placed inside the helmet
  • The intercom device, mounted on the left side of the helmet

Step 2: Set up the Bluetooth speakers in the full-face helmet

Remove the cheek and ear pads from your helmet, making sure to remember where each piece belongs. Clean each ear cavity with an alcohol pad to ensure a smooth surface for the speaker mounting pads.

Next, take the velcro mounting patches for the speakers and peel off the backing paper to expose the adhesive side. Carefully stick them to the inside of the helmet, placing one in each ear cavity.

Using the velcro hooks on the rear of the speakers, fasten the left speaker to its mounting square. After that, take off the head cushioning from the back of your helmet and insert the speaker cord's long side underneath the padding. Similar to how you attached the left speaker, attach the right one. Use the included velcro spacers that come with your helmet to improve the fit if the speakers are too far away from your head and the ear canals are deep.

Step 3: Install the microphone

To install the microphone, follow these steps:

Stick the adhesive pad for the microphone onto the chin bar of your helmet. Secure the corded microphone to the pad and guide its cord along the inner left edge of the helmet. After you're finished, reconnect all of the cables and put the padding back in place on your helmet.

Step 4: Secure the audio cradle to the exterior of helmet

If you are using the Moman motorcycle helmet intercom, there are 2 ways to place it properly.

Method 1: Install with Back Clip

Use the screwdriver to loosen the screws of the back clip so that it can open to a proper extent.

Open the helmet liner, insert the clip into the right position on the left side of the helmet, and tighten the screw.

Method 2: Install with Velcro Clip

Separate the hook and loop fasteners. First, stick the hook onto the Velcro clip; choose the right helmet installation position and stick the loop to it. Then, install the intercom onto the Velcro clip.

Step 5: Attach the control unit to the cradle

You’re nearly finished—just mount the audio unit. Position your intercom device to align with the connectors on the audio cradle and secure it by snapping it in. Now you’re all set to communicate with friends, answer calls, and enjoy hands-free entertainment while riding!

Conclusion

A full face helmet intercom is an essential tool for modern motorcyclists, combining convenience, safety, and connectivity into one compact device. Whether you're communicating with fellow riders, navigating with GPS, enjoying music, or taking calls, these systems enhance your riding experience without compromising focus or safety. By following the step-by-step installation guide, you can easily set up your intercom system and enjoy seamless connectivity on the road.
