Best intercoms for snowboarding and skiing: 3 Moman picks

Here are three Moman helmet intercoms for snowboarding. They are budget-friendly and suitable for different group sizes.

Moman H2E: Snowboarding communication device for pair use, audio multitasking featured

Shop Moman H2E at Moman Store

The Moman H2E is a two-rider Bluetooth intercom system that punches above its price tag with features like dual-chip audio multitasking, HiFi 40 mm speakers, and up to ~1,000 m intercom range.

For a snowboarding scenario, this means you and a riding partner (buddy or instructor) can keep connected even on downhill runs, listen to music or navigation cues, and still communicate clearly. It’s especially well-suited for day trips, pair outings, or where group size is limited.

Best for: Two-person snow outings (you and buddy/instructor), where you value audio clarity and good features, want a reliable setup without going full group-mesh.

🟢Pros

  • Good battery life for a full day of snow riding.
  • The range is generous for typical mountain slopes
  • Noise cancellation helps in windy, open mountain environments
  • Music and communication multitasking is a nice bonus for mixed use

🔴Cons

  • Designed for two riders: if you’re going with a larger group, you’ll hit limitations
  • The 1,000 m spec is “line-of-sight” under ideal conditions; in dense tree cover or between lifts, you may get less

Moman H2S: Snowboarding intercom with ENC noise cancellation, audio multitasking, and auto volume control

Shop Moman H2S intercom system for snowboarding at Moman

When you’re out shredding fresh powder with a buddy and want reliable audio communication through the helmet, the Moman H2S is a strong choice. Built for outdoor conditions, it features a long intercom range of up to 1,000 meters, delivering rider-to-rider voice contact even when separated on the mountain.

Audio clarity is excellent thanks to 40 mm hi-fi speakers and strong noise cancellation (DSP + CVC + ENC) plus a wind-proof mic, ensuring your voice comes through clearly even when the wind picks up.

The H2S also supports multitasking audio use: you can chat via intercom while simultaneously listening to music, FM radio, or navigation cues. It will automatically adjust the volume when the intercom function is activated to ensure clear communication.

Best for: For two riders working with a tighter budget, yet still seeking strong intercom performance and high-quality audio in snowy or icy conditions.

🟢Pros

  • Excellent value for the features you get.
  • Noise cancellation tailored for high-wind scenarios, useful on open slopes
  • Good for rider+buddy, or instructor+student setup with solid audio support

🔴Cons

  • Like the H2E, limited to a two-rider intercom
  • Battery and performance still subject to cold-weather degradation

Moman CP-S: Snowboarding helmet intercom for up to 8 users

Shop Moman CP-S snowboarding helmet communication at Moman

The Moman CP-S steps into group-ride territory, supporting up to 8 riders and an intercom range up to 2,000 m in open terrain.

It uses HiFi 40 mm speakers, DSP + CVC noise cancellation, IP65 waterproof rating and features like FM radio and music sharing. For snowboarding groups (family outings, guided trips), it gives everyone a way to stay connected across multiple helmets and off-piste terrain.

Note: Moman CP-X mesh motorcycle intercom will launch soon to ensure flexible communication among 24 users.

Best for: Snowboard clubs, families, group outings where staying connected across multiple helmets is important, and a budget allows for more capable gear.

🟢Pros

  • Ideal for larger groups (3+ skiers), families, or guided snow tours
  • Longer range helps when snowboarders separate on slopes or terrain that creates obstructions
  • Built for all weather with a strong waterproof rating and prolonged battery life

🔴Cons

  • Higher cost compared to simpler two-user units
  • More complex to set up

How to install a snowboarding intercom on your helmet?

Setting up a snowboarding intercom is straightforward and only takes a few minutes. Start by attaching the main receiver to your helmet — it usually clips onto the triangle strap area near your ears. If your helmet doesn’t have suitable straps, you can stick the receiver directly to the outer shell using the adhesive mount provided.

Next, connect the microphone and speakers. Secure the mic to your chin strap with the included hook-and-loop fastener for stable placement. For the speakers, place one on each side: if your helmet has built-in ear pads or pockets, slide them inside. Otherwise, use the Velcro pads or adhesive hook-and-loop patches to attach them to the inner lining. These patches are particularly useful for helmets without interior padding, such as climbing or kayaking helmets.

To keep your setup tidy, use the small cable fasteners to route the speaker wires neatly along the inside of your helmet. This prevents tangling and keeps the cables from catching on anything.

Keep in mind that if you plan to switch the intercom between multiple helmets, setup can take a bit of time. You might need to reattach the speakers and mic or invest in an extra mounting kit for convenience. However, if you’re sticking with one helmet, installation is a one-time process.

Once installed, the system is easy to use. You can control music, volume, and intercom features via the buttons and dial on the receiver. When connected to your phone via Bluetooth, voice assistants like Siri also let you make calls or give hands-free commands — so you can stay focused on your snowboarding.
